Sixteen of this stash of bushel basket gourds have gone to a gourd artist today. I laid them out in the driveway so he could select the best.
I had no idea of the high price cured gourds sell for. This somewhat cumbersome stash of homegrown gold has been taking up space and gathering dust in the boatshed since autumn of 2020 when my first attempts at growing gourds for bowls threatened to kudzu the neighbourhood.
That’s this month’s utility bill taken care of then.
