It’s National Watermelon Day (apparently). "When one has tasted watermelon, he knows what angels eat“ (Mark Twain)
I spent an inordinate amount of time styling and photographing my melons.
Then I sliced and ate a juicy half of one for supper. And I knew what angels eat.
I picked Crimson Treat variety to plant for their smaller, more manageable size of melon, often called an icebox watermelon in the seed catalogs. These two babies plucked from the vime today, weigh in around 5-6 lbs each. Way more manageable than a 25 lb momma.
